President Trump Calls Relatives of Injured Guard Soldiers to White House
Former President Donald Trump revealed on Sunday that he has asked the loved ones of a National Guard member fatally shot last week to visit the presidential home.
He added that he contacted her family and they were “heartbroken”.

Soldier Sarah Beckstrom, 20, was lost her life in a violent incident on Wednesday in Washington DC.
Her fellow service member, US air force staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, continues receiving treatment in grave state.
Vigils across West Virginia have been held in their remembrance.
White House Call
The commander-in-chief said he’s discussed a White House visit for the parents of both soldiers of the West Virginia Guard.
“I told them: ‘When you’re able, because that’s a tough thing, visit the White House. We’re going to honor Sarah,” the president told the press. “And similarly with him, whether he recovers or not.”
Public Reaction
Attendees assembled over the weekend at the high school in the state to pay respects to Sarah.
Both the soldiers had been serving with the West Virginia National Guard as part of Trump’s government program to support public safety in DC.
Paying Tribute to Beckstrom
“She was the type of pupil that educators desired. She carried herself with inner fortitude, a bright grin and a upbeat demeanor that inspired people around her,” Hankins, the head of her previous school, told the media. “She was sweet, caring and always eager to help others.”
Funeral plans for Sarah are yet to be finalized.
Judicial Steps and Government Changes
Authorities have accused a twenty-nine-year-old individual from Afghanistan with a charge of first-degree murder and two counts of assault with intent to kill while carrying a weapon.
The incident led the government to halt asylum applications and halt providing entry permits to holders of passports from Afghanistan.
Condition of the Airman
The airman, a resident of the city, started his military career in early 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman High, as reported by the AP.
He is still undergoing care and is “in a critical fight”, the state’s governor the governor said on television.
