Daughter of Former South African Head of State Jacob G Zuma Refutes Terrorism Charges as Legal Proceedings Begins
The offspring of previous South African Leader Zuma has entered a not guilty plea to terrorism-related charges at the beginning of her court case in the port city of the city of Durban.
Zuma-Sambudla, 43 years old, is being tried over remarks she published on social media in the past during violent protests in South Africa that came after the apprehension of her dad.
A seven-day period of disorder in various areas of the country in July 2021, including looting and intentional burning, resulted in at least 300 deceased and led to damage worth an approximate 2.8 billion dollars (2.2 billion pounds).

Ms Zuma-Sambudla has consistently denied the accusations against her, with her attorney previously labelling the prosecution's evidence as insufficient.
She has also frequently stated the charges against her were an bid to resolve political grievances with her father after he founded his own party and competed against the ruling party.

This was echoed by the Zuma foundation, which stated the case was an "misuse of authority" and a "coordinated attempt" of "political and kinship targeting" against the previous head of state and his kin.
A small number of backers from her party, uMkhonto weSizwe, gathered outside the KwaZulu-Natal high court, while her dad and other group representatives participated in the hearings inside.
The defense has argued that the testimony presented by prosecutors is inadequate and lacks concrete proof for a guilty verdict.
