British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Fatal Car Crash
Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, Nigerian authorities announced on Wednesday night. The athlete was caught in a vehicular crash in the Lagos area on the 29th of December, a horrific crash that claimed the lives of two of his valued colleagues.
Healing from Light Wounds
Joshua had been receiving medical attention while recuperating from non-critical injuries, representatives had said on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on social media that Joshua was judged healthy enough to “recuperate at home”.
“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two friends who passed away as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the official remarked.
A Tribute to the Fallen
The two men who died were identified as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. Omotoso added that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and overcome with emotion over the tragic loss of his two trusted companions.”
His release from the hospital arrives after the global fight fans offered condolences for the champion in the aftermath of the heartbreaking incident.
