Barcelona have announced they will play at the partially upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday. The club will host Athletic Bilbao in La Liga two and a half years following their departure to allow renovations to start.

“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Not all seats will be available though over 45,000 attendees can be present under the licence granted. Once fully finished, the stadium’s capacity will reach close to 105,000 fans, up from the previous 99,000. Barça announced recent additions comprise an updated entryway for the team and new dressing rooms.

Preparatory Events

Barça organized a public practice inside the stadium in early November. Officials stated approval is being pursued from Uefa to play their next home Champions League game against Eintracht Frankfurt in December in the renovated venue. Their recent games have been held in the temporary ground.
